Town went five points clear at the top of the Championship with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Loanee David Unsworth opened the scoring with a debut goal in the 20th minute and Shefki Kuqi settled the game in the second period.

Town's Championship game with Leicester City will go ahead as scheduled on Saturday, February 12th after the Foxes defeated Reading in their fourth round FA Cup match. A replay in that tie would have taken place on the day of the league match.
